Today, was 'Artsy Thursday' and the second last day in the
'Week of the Young Child.'
The children had multiple opportunities to CrEaTe art!!
What is the difference between ART and a CRAFT??
Well, process art has no expected outcome.
The children are not shown a sample,
only presented with the materials.
It is through the exploration of the materials
where the discoveries and the true ART is born.
We explored liquid glue, liquid watercolors, and salt.
Very cool results.
We painted on newspaper for something different and because we are learning about reusing, upcycling, and recycling.
Sometimes engaging in experimentation
with the art mediums becomes the art.
Pouring, dumping, stirring... mess, glorious mess!!
Then we painted on large pieces of corrugated cardboard.
Creating Earth sculptures with loose parts was lots of fun
and allowed for tons of creativity.
The last day of Week of the Young Child is called 'Family Friday.'
Perhaps you can have a fun family night to kick off the weekend!!
