Field Day Fun!

We could not have ordered more perfect weather
than today to enjoy field day fun!
The school gathered into spirit teams at 1:00 and headed to their respective starting station.
At 1:15 the bell rang and the games began.
I tried to spot all our little friends on their teams as we passed each other, yet we were outside and in the gym so it was a bit tricky.
Team Flynn began in the gym!
Balls of all shapes and sizes were flying every which way!!
Along with scooters, the parachute, rope swinging, cup stacking...

Mrs. Jordan was the official time-keeper!!
Next, we headed outdoors!!
Long jump, tug-o'-war, water balloons, frisbee, baseball, basketball, hockey, partner walking, track, drip, drip, DROP
and everybody's favorite...
POPSICLES!!

 Ahhh... look who I found!!

Thank you Jesus for this GREAT day!!
(and Mr.. J. for organizing and 7th and 8th graders for setting up and running all the games!)

Bugs, bugs, bugs

We've  moved on to our zoo animals unit last week, but it would really "bug" me if I didn't post these great pictures from our last unit, Creepy Crawlies and Insects!

Future entomologists at work!

We learned that insects have 6 legs, a head, thorax, abdomen, antennae, and sometimes wings.

Creepy crawly creations!

Entomologist engineers built bug hotels!

We played a game called "SWAT!" where we found numbers that I called out around the room...

and swatted the number when we found it!

We built natural bug habitats in the sensory table...we even found a few real creepy crawlies in our natural materials!

Thank You, Gardeners!

Today the St. Robert school community thanked all the gardeners who work so effortlessly on our parish and school grounds.
The 4K and 5K kiddos children performed after
communion and sang a song of thanks to Jesus
for the beautiful flowers all around our world.

Each volunteer received a lovely rose.
Hmmm... is that a big sister we know?!

Here is our own little rainbow garden!!
Thank you, Jesus, for flowers all around!!
