We had another wonderful trip to the UEC!
We experienced a wide-array of weather;
fog, wind, warm then cold, the sun peeked out too and then... the rain moved in and we moved out!
We were hunting for signs of spring!
Off we go into Riverside Park sounding like a flock of chickadees!
We heard geese honking and looked up and saw a whole flock.
On our way to nature's playground we stopped to
Only in spring does the sap run in a tree.
It has to be cold at night and warmer during the day.
A small hole is drilled in the tree and a spout is
inserted and a bag attached.
Once the sap is gathered it has to be boiled to turn into syrup.
Most of the kids tried the sap.
Once we got into the woods, we found the surest
sign that the snow was melting...
MUD!!
Glorious mud!
The more we tromped and played, the more we
made an increased amount of mud.
Where does it come from???
Peek-a-Boo!
Look, I'm not even slipping (this time!)
Thank you, God, for muddy days!!
