Mardi Gras Fun

We had lot of fun on Tuesday afternoon celebrating 'Fat Tuesday.'
We learned that 'Fat Tuesday' refers to events of the Carnival celebration beginning after Epiphany and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday.
We explored the jazzy music, the fun colors
of purple, green, and gold.
We made masks.
Designed instruments.
Made Mardi Gras beads.
Played in a crazy bead-filled sensory bin
looking for the golden baby.
The baby symbolizes luck and prosperity to whoever finds it.
We also painted Mardi Gras posters.
Had fun squishing Mardi Gras playdough.
We ended our afternoon with a little first floor
Mardi Gras parade complete with music.
So fun!
