Big Vocabulary Learning through Play

The children are learning many concepts by playing with our wood pieces; vertical, horizontal, diagonal, top, bottom, and middle. This past week we learned a new song called Tap, Tap, Tap. We needed to follow many directions.
In this picture the kiddos have their wood pieces in 'sleeping' position waiting for the song to begin.

Next, comes 'ready' position.

Touch the big line to your head.
Touch the big line to your shoulders.
.
During our workshop time, we were introduced to the Stamp & See Screen. It contains the same wood pieces, but on a smaller scale.

Big curve and little curve were added to the mix and the children were busy creating many letters and shapes with all four wood pieces.

You can reinforce these concepts at home by using our new vocabulary words in your everyday activities.
