Wonderful Wiggly Worms

We're extending our recycle, reuse unit  and are talking about compost and the role worms play in eating up some stuff we might throw in the garbage and turning it into rich soil that's good for the Earth. We have some special guests staying with us this week.

Clue #1...
They live in dirt...

LOTS of dirt.
Clue #2...they're not fuzzy like chicks, in fact...
they're kinda slimey.

and wiggly
and stretchy

We're learning some great science words this week like soil, compost, and decompose.

Playdough worm
Dirt to dig in with pretend worms in the sensory bin

We talked about what lives underground and what lives above the ground and drew pictures of where worms live and where we live.

We painted with worms in art (the fake fishing kind).

This Sunday, April 22nd is Earth Day. Go for a worm dig! Happy Earth Day!
