Grow Seed, Grow

This week we are exploring seeds. We discovered that seeds come in MANY different sizes and colors too.
Today, we planted bean seeds in a plastic bag so we can watch as the seed sprouts.
First, we opened the seed packet. We were surprised that bean seeds are actually white and not green.
Then we each took ONE baggie.
Next, we took ONE paper towel and folded it TWO times...

...and placed it into a sandwich baggie.

Success!!

We added TWO seeds.
Then, added some water.  It was fun watching the towel absorb the water.
We could squish the wetness.
We wrote our name onto a baggie topper so we will remember who's bean seed is whose and then we taped it to the window.
We sure had to be good listeners today and follow lots of directions to plant our seeds. Our teacher said we are ready for kindergarten!!
We learned that seeds need sun, water, and air in order to grow. We can't wait to bring our sprouts home:)
Grow seed, grow!!
(When your child brings his/her seed home, please transplant it into a small pot or outside in your garden.)
