A Camping We Will Go...

The children said we needed to change our dramatic play area one last time, soooooo... we brainstormed and thought it would be fun to set up a little campsite. They kicked into high-gear to get this one done in a day. Impressive to say the least.
First, we set out to make some trees to give it a forest feel.
Flat trees for the wall.

3-D trees
Sculpture variety.
Of course, we pitched a tent...
and if you camp, there has to be a campfire, and if there is a campfire there has to be marshmallows. Hmmm... this is beginning to sound like a familiar book we all love. (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie)
The signs makers got right to work warning campers of 'Bear Attacks'... today someone thought that we better add a bear walking in the woods.
"Camping Gear for Sale... and for kids!"
"Do NOT Go... Bear Attack!"
We learned a bit about the Park Rangers and talked about some things that might be sold at a camp store... worms, fishing gear, lanterns and flashlights, s'mores ingredients, sleeping bags, firewood, etc... Sounds like we have a few real campers in our class!! Right now the kids are working on making these props!
Animals are starting to lurk around!
Roasting marshmallows is so much fun!!
