Going Buggy

We had another visit from Mrs. Tooley... the Art-in-a-Suitcase lady.
This time she launched our creepy crawly unit, aka... Going Buggy!
First, we learned what insects are not.
Next, it was time for us to transform into entomologists!
That's a big word for insect scientist.
We learned that insects have certain characteristics in common no matter how large or how small they are. They all have 6 legs, 3 body parts, 2 antennae, and usually 2 pairs of wings.
FYI... not all bugs are insects!
Bugs are a type of insect and have a stylet mouth. It's kind of like a straw.

The body parts are called a head, thorax, and abdomen.

Thank you, Mrs. Tooley!!
