Great Kindness Challenge - Day 1

The children in 4K are all in on the kindness challenge. We began the week creating Superhero capes that we will wear when participating in kind deeds within our community. Just call us 'KID KINDNESS' and keep your eyes open for all the kind acts we will engage in this week.

This is a picture of the visual we have on the second floor to show the children how kindness can spread exponentially, but it starts with YOU. If we each do a kind deed to three different people and in turn, those people do the same, this will impact the world. KINDNESS is STRENGTH and has the POWER to CHANGE the WORLD!
Remember, kindness begins at home! We want our school parents to help us earn links to put onto our school-wide kindness chain. We want to see how far we can stretch our chain. One link will be earned for each kind act.
Today, our focus was on brainstorming a variety of kind deeds we could do this week. In our classroom community, we will focus on a daily challenge which will have us treating each other with kindness and respect. If we are 'caught' being kind, we will earn a heart to add to our class tree. As the week goes on we are hoping we will see our tree 'Growing in Love Through Kindness.'
We will also participate in a kind deed each day within our greater school community. Check back tomorrow to see what all my little Kid Kindness Superheroes are up to. You never know when you may see these little capes flying down your street:)
