This morning the prekindergarten children were
treated to a visit from the North Shore fire fighters.
We learned that we should test our smoke detectors twice
a year so they can do the job of sniffing out smoke.
The fire fighters taught us the difference
between a TOOL and a TOY.
We learned never ever to touch or play with anything that
can make fire... matches, candles, lighters!
The fire fighters talked to us about what an EMERGENCY is and told us to call 9-1-1 if we ever have an emergency.
If our clothes catch on fire, we learned to STOP,
DROP,
and ROLL!
It was fun watching one of our little friends try
STOP, DROP, and ROLL.
The BEST part of the fire fighter visit was watching
fire fighter Chad get all his gear on.
He looked and sounded a little scary with his mask on,
BUT he showed us that it was really just him
inside of all those heavy clothes and mask.
Please talk to your child about fire prevention and take a look at your home and plan a few different escape routes.
The fire fighters also suggest choosing a family
meeting place in case everyone needs to escape from a fire
but might not be together when doing so.
Thank you, fire fighters for doing such an
important job and keeping us all safe.
