Whoo, Whoo!

The children have been learning about how animals in the forest are getting ready for the winter which is calling us pretty loudly these past couple of days.
We read a beautiful story of HOPE called Owl Moon by Jane Yolen.
The full-day kiddos have been engaged in a few extension activities related to this story too. We learned about monochromatic painting and inspired by the cover, painted beautiful sky backgrounds.
The next day, added dark, night time trees.

The paintings are stunning.
We also had some fun taking on the challenge of building a nest that would hold an owl.
The kids had fun testing out their nests.

 Whoo, Whoo!
Don't you just love loose parts from nature?!
Whoo, whoooooooo is this cute little owl?!
