Our Pretend Lab has transformed into a market just in time for Thanksgiving feast shopping.
We began by preparing the walls with environmental print. Students will use this wall to 'spy' letters and 'read' the packaging they are familiar with.
Next, the aisles were formed and the shelves were stocked and we were ready to open for business!
Bring on the customers!
Choosy shoppers!
Waiting in line is a very important social skill. No pushing allowed!
The writing center has been busy with children preparing their grocery lists. Check out the nice writing; scribble writing, letter strings, and even some initial/final consonant sounds. WOW!
And even some letter copying from the environmental print wall:)
Lists are being double-checked to be sure nothing is forgotten.
Store clerks efficiently scan grocery items.
Whoa... she must have a BIG family to cook for!
If you need something for your Thanksgiving feast, feel free to stop by. Our little clerks are so accommodating, they have even been known to pass out credit cards when you enter the market:)
