| Last week we continued talking about awesome animal adaptations. We wondered where beavers live and graphed our ideas... |

| We dressed like beavers and copied some of their amazing adaptations: life jackets for their layer of fat to keep them warm, flippers for web feet, goggles for a beaver's clear inner eyelid that allows them to see under water and a thick coat of fur that keeps them dry when they are swimming. |

| The engineering challenge was to build a beaver dam that would prevent water from passing to the other side. |

| The kiddos looked at pictures of real beaver dams in our non-fiction books, and built dams from clay, rocks, and sticks that would make any beaver proud! |
