Dr. Seuss S.T.E.A.M. Challenges - part 1

Today is the anniversary of Dr. Seuss' birthday. He was born on this day in 1904 as Theodor Seuss Geisel. He is best known as a favorite children's author.
Celebrating Seuss day was a great way to kick off our imagination unit because Seuss was a master at using his imagination, not only in his words but his creative characters.
Our morning was spent engaging in a variety of S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) challenges all surrounding popular Dr. Seuss stories.

Tomorrow we will make POCKETS for our WOCKETS!

Wow, one is flat, the other stands tall!! Two successful ways to approach the same challenge.

(I forgot to snap a picture of the crazy finished sculptures... check back tomorrow!)

Active rhyming... whole body learning!

Of course, we had other fun too!!
What is it?
Hmmm... use your imagination!!

Let's play 'pass the hat!'

So silly!
More Seuss fun is in store for tomorrow:)
We will focus on the S (science) and T (technology) in S.T.E.A.M.
