Dr. Seuss S.T.E.A.M Challenges - part 2

The fun continued today as the children were able to revisit favorite centers or try something that they didn't have time for yesterday.
Here is a picture of our WHATCHAMACALLITS sculptures.
The children created POCKETS for their WOCKETS
Next, it was time for a fun experiment!

We mixed the concoction in our crazy messy tank and thought Dr. Seuss would really like the way it looked:)

Hmmmm. doesn't look like an egg... how can we make this stuff stick together and roll it into an egg shape?
 "Add some water!"

Now for a bit more fun... let's add some vinegar and watch what happens.

WHOA... so cool!

Try this at home:
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 9 drops of food coloring
  • Slowly add water one tablespoon at a time until moldable.
  • Mold into desired shape
  • Add a small amount of vinegar to see the fizzy, bubbly reaction. Enjoy!
