Global Day of Play - Tunnels & Tubes

Today the students and teachers of St. Robert School joined the world in a Global Day of Play. In the world of 4K, we play everyday. Today, however, we had some special props and a longer length of uninteruppted play time, so it was still very special.
My son left town this morning on a move to Florida. He is an artist and donated some large tubes to the children to play and create with. He oftentimes stores rolled up prints in these tubes. This inspired me to ask you for smaller cardboard tubes. I supplied a bit of tape and I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
 Tunnels
 Chutes
 Megaphones
 Rocking boats.
 Binoculars
 Balancing sticks

 Drum sticks
A resting spot
 Collaboration
 A narwhal
 A true engineer... pre-planning
 Construction begins

So elaborate... worked on this for over an hour!!
A car chute

Open-ended props offer a wealth of possibilities to the creative mind of a child. Let the children PLAY!!
When we were done with the tunnels and tubes, we did a bit of creative dancing with some rainbow scarves. So joyful!!

This afternoon, we did play rotations through both of the 5K rooms. It was so fun to see what it's like to play in kindergarten.

Remember, PLAY is the work of a child!!
