Apple Bakers

Preparing and baking apple dumplings was the
culmination of our special time learning about apples.
Fresh apples smell sooo good!!

The cinnamon smelled delicious too!!
First, we removed the apple peel and the children
chopped the apples into small chunks.

We discovered that some apples were more
stiff and solid and harder to cut.
We put the chunks into a bowl and added the cinnamon.
Then we rolled and flattened the dough and
spooned a few apples in the center.
It was so fun to wrap the pastry dough around the apples.
Next, it was time to pop them in the oven.
The waiting was more fun when we
watched through the oven window!
Don't they look yummy?!
The entire first floor smelled delicious all day long:)
