Writers are Thinkers

 The children in prekindergarten are on their way to being little writers! We are learning first a writer needs to be a THINKER.

Once a writer has an idea, next he/she can TALK about the idea.
Each Monday morning we sit in a circle and pass 'Share Bear' around while orally sharing one thing that we did on the weekend.
The children need to respectfully 'pass' the bear
to the friend sitting next to them.

These little people are turning into
quite the listeners and speakers too.

We have learned that we use our ideas create our own books.
Writing about what we know is always the most motivating.
We are also learning about what 'BEST WORK' looks like too;
using shapes we know to draw things, coloring in the white-space, and trying our best to stay within the borderline.
The children use a real rubric as a measure of what best work looks like.
The growth and development over the past couple of weeks has been very evident!!
Way to go, little learners!!
