A Brand New Year!

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!

We have two days under our belts and although we have many new rules and procedures to learn, that did not stop us from having a wonderful time at school meeting new friends and exploring our two classrooms and big school.

During group time the children are learning to sit being physically distanced from one another. To assist with this process, we are using colored sit-spots.

Learning to walk in a line at school is always a big deal to teach in 4K. This year we are adding the element of walking at least 3 feet apart. To help the children understand what this looks like, we used a knotted rope. The children could see with their own eyes what 3 feet looked like. Next, we set down the rope and used our arms as a tool to check where our fingers would land in relation to the person standing in the line ahead of us.

We wear masks in the hallway, so what should we do with them when we play outside???
A labeled shoe bag worked marvelously.

The children even learned how to space out their water bottles on the water bottle parking lot spots.

Exploring in the classrooms was lots of fun!

Playing outside in the fresh air felt so good.
Hand washing is top priority in school.
We are thankful to have a sink in one of our classrooms.
The children are learning to sing the ABC song while they scrub away!
Stay-tuned for more learning through play!
