Growing Things!

This week we are learning all about flowers and HOW they grow.

We got out into the dirt digging like a 

real gardener and planting seeds and bulbs.

We also did a bit of planting indoors.

Making eggheads was especially fun!!

Enjoying the dirt after a rainstorm and making a yummy mud pie!

Anyone care for a taste?!

Indoors it was fun making a yummy garden snack.

Healthy too!!

 Disecting and sorting parts of a plant 
made the children feel like real scientists.

A nice follow-up was going on a scavenger hunt 
looking for each part of the plant and 
adding labels in the backyard.

Creating our own flower posters allowed us to show our learning.

Notice how we have learned how to label  

diagrams just like in a real nonfiction book.

 Something we like to do in pre-k is make tinker trays.
It is nothing more than a collection of loose parts 
that allows for open-ended creativity.

 The children also respond to stories, 
as well as make story predictions.

Process art flowers always turn out beautiful...

Making a pretty craft flower garden is also fun!

Writing trays are a great sensory way to practice printing letters.
