Now that old man winter has set in with its frigid temps, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to open a little hot cocoa cafe' in our pretend lab.
It's only been open for a day and the children were so busy!!
They are learning about all the different roles that are necessary to run the shop;
cashier/order-taker,
barista who creates the artistic cup of cocoa,
order checker and tray loader,
servers,
and... customers of course!!
We can't forget the clean-up crew who serve an important role in keeping the cafe' neat and tidy.
The order-taker got some good practice practicing his/her speaking and listening skills as well as writing numbers.
The customers practiced printing their names on their order.
It took a lot of patience to wait for their orders.
