...dance around.
Snowflakes, snowflakes touch the ground.
Snowflakes, snowflakes in the air.
Snowflakes, snowflakes everywhere:)
We have been learning LOTS about snowflakes and
are immersed in snowflake play.
Snowflake loose parts in the tinker tray proved to
be lots of fun and so shiny too.
Add a bit of sparkly winter playdough to the
loose parts and creativity is inspired.
Drawing snowflakes using shaving cream on a
block of shiny 'ice' was a sensory joy.
Transparent pattern blocks for snowflake building
at the light table was amazing.
The children really demonstrated an understanding of symmetry.
Snowflake building with gems on mirrors was almost magical.
Symmetrical snowflake creating at the art table was also a success.
First, we created snowflakes by drawing with liquid glue.
Great fine motor activity for little hand muscles.
Next, we sprinkled salt on top of the glue and let it dry for a day.
The next step involved a bit of science.
We dropped water colors on top of the salt and watched as the salt absorbed the color and made it spread.
So cool.
Such intent little faces.
Learning to cut snowflakes seemed too hard, but with
perseverance and drive these little peeps got the job done!
Of course, we needed to make our snowflakes
even more unique, so we added some color
using liquid water colors and a cotton swab.
Pretending about winter and making our read alouds
come alive is is really a lot of fun too!
Enjoy this YouTube video of macro images of real snowflakes.
Really amazing!
